My name is Emma but everyone thinks I am called Ellie (and my surname isn’t press)!
I am a Zoology & Aquatic (Marine) Biologist who became a programme manager/ scrum master for a number of years working with software developers in the corporate sector. I have always had an itch to scratch as I have always LOVED drawing so when the opportunity arose I focused all of my energy on design.
was set up in 2013 and operates out of my home studio in Buckinghamshire. It was named after the little red Adana 8 X 5 which thumped card stock like a baby elephant and was dragged out to craft fairs and even into the local school to teach children about printing.
Betsy is a foolscap folio Arab Platen (13″ X 9″ chase) that had been owned by a retired hobby printer and just needed a little TLC. She was restored by Logan Press to the working condition she is in today.
The number 2921 stamped into Betsy indicates she was made circa 1895, a real piece of history and I love the fact that I am part of her future.
As well as weddings Ellie Press produces a range of stationery products from notecards to gift tags. My work can currently be found on Etsy and Folksy or at various fairs announced on my Facebook pages.
